Barcelona continued their dominant start to the La Liga campaign with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium, marking their third five-goal performance in just four league matches. Under Hansi Flick, the Catalan giants have displayed devastating attacking form, racking up 17 goals in four matches to sit comfortably three points clear at the top of the table.
The onslaught began early when Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Set through by a delicate lofted pass from Fermín López, the teenage winger showed magnificent composure to dink the ball over the onrushing Dimitrievski. Fermín López turned goalscorer in the 22nd minute, finishing off a slick team move involving debut-maker Anthony Gordon to make it 2-0 before halftime.
Barca carried their rhythm straight into the second half. Just five minutes after the restart, Fermín López squared the ball for Raphinha to tap in his sixth goal of the season. Pedri added a fourth in the 79th minute following a crisp one-two with Dani Olmo, before Olmo carved through Valencia's defense once more in the 84th minute to set up Yamal for his second of the afternoon.
