Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes has been officially crowned the 2026 PFA Players' Player of the Year.
The announcement at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony at Manchester Opera House provides the official stamp on an incredible individual season for the 31-year-old Portuguese international. Voted on exclusively by fellow professional footballers across the English leagues, the PFA award represents the ultimate badge of peer recognition.
Record-Breaking Campaign Completes Award Treble
Fernandes came out on top against a stacked six-man shortlist that featured Arsenal's title-winning trio Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhães, and David Raya, alongside Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki.
Despite Manchester United finishing third in the Premier League, Fernandes produced individual numbers that demanded the top prize. He etched his name into English football history by registering 21 assists in a single season, surpassing the long-standing record of 20 previously shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
